When Ditching The Dream Is A Good Thing

Hello,

I like to share books that support my growth and/or rock my world.  And Bethany is another friend's work I want to share in honor of my birthday month.  In fact, today is my birthday.  I am 61!  Woohoo!

Here is what I read in Bethany Clemenson’s book Ditching the Dream:  How to Live Life on Your Terms that clinched my decision to share it with you:

“Societally, we aren’t taught to trust ourselves.  We are taught to conform and be logical and realistic.

  • Stand in line
  • Learn the way everyone else is learning
  • Buy more things
  • Look like everyone else
  • Fit in
  • Look like the people in the magazine
  • Project the ‘perfect’ family
  • Buy the perfect home décor
  • Create the perfect charcuterie board.”

“It’s backwards.  All the answers are inside of you.  Your true inner nature is within you.  We were sold a bill of goods when we were told otherwise.  It’s life porn—sensationalized, fake, and just plain gross!”

I loved Bethany’s book from the start. The poem (she wrote) to begin her book made me cry.

Bethany (who is a friend I loved from the moment I met her to be in her summit) is a straight-forward, honest, no bullshit, courageous woman.

If you enjoy what I send out, you will love Ditching the Dream:  How to Live Life on Your Terms If you are looking to make changes in your life, this book will encourage and support you to do that.

If you read it, I would love to hear your thoughts.

Love,

Dr. Jane Tornatore
